You might have missed the spring events because you were not yet convinced of the new season - but summer is here and you have no excuse. Here is a round-up of some of the hottest events and festivals.

 Pizza Wine Band

Surround yourself with art lovers and foodies at this mini-festival celebrating local art. Enjoy live music and poetry while nibbling on gourmet pizza and wine, and as part of the admission fee guests will receive a free glass of wine and a large slice of pizza.

Durban Sushi and Wine Festival

Submerge yourself in sushi and wine for two days, this is the ultimate seafood festival - there is vegan sushi, prawns, craft wine and gin bars. After enjoying all the savoury treats, you can dig into the dessert - a ticket includes an entry with entertainment plus one portion of complementary sushi (4pc California roll) and glass of vino!

Migrate to Margate Festival

Durban communities have united to host this huge music festival - live bands, DJ's, vendors and a camping experience like no other.

Forest Drive Festival

December is a busy month but you do not have to be stuck in the crowds - Forest Drive Festival is a farm, picnic, music and social gathering. A chilled environment away from the city is exactly how December should be spent. There will be live music and performances by South African musos and farm-fresh goodies.

Oyster and Bubbly Festival

Be a part of the first annual Oyster and Bubbly Festival. If you like the finer things in life then this is for you, but if you have not tasted oysters before do not feel left out - there is no better time to try the delicacy paired with over 25 of the best bubblies. This one-night extravaganza is sensory heaven.

Litchi Festival

This festival is about, family, fun and basking in the sun while enjoying the delicious flavours of litchi. Visitors can enjoy a tractor ride into the scenic orchards to pick the litchis, while sampling as many as they can fit in. Picking will end when there are no more fruits to pick so grab as much as you can. Food and refreshments will be sold at the venue and you are welcome to bring your blankets for seating.

Loskop Music Festival

Loskop music picnic is the best place to be for supporters of local music. The festival features some of the popular South African acts and also brings light to some of the upcoming musicians. A true celebration of local talent!
