Ever wanted to be a mermaid? These students from the University of Cape Town's Underwater Club will get the chance to do just that with a 24-hour diving marathon.
Hosted by the Two Oceans Aquarium, the Diver24 Marathon will test their endurance - and their lungs - to extreme levels. Their attempt will be visible throughout the exhibits, making friends with the fishes and trying not to piss off the sharks.
Non-divers can come join in on the action with a special night event at the aquarium which will involve experts talking about diving, trying on scuba gear and watching short films about the art of the dive. All ticket sales will be donated to charity.
When: 7 March 2020 from 18:30
Where: Two Oceans Aquarium
Tickets: You can buy tickets on Quicket - adults are R185, children between 4-13 are R90, and children from 14-17, SA students and pensioners are R140.
