Initially founded in 1999 by the Late Dennis Barr, the festival aims to raise money to aid various initiatives, especially in disadvantaged communities and encouraging youth to take an interest in a music education.

Over the years the festival has provided support in various forms for schools such as Manenberg High School, Ned Doman Secondary School as well as Mount View High School. Click here to read more about their ongoing efforts.

The Festival also supports the Beau Soleil Music for the Africa Trust - an initiative formed by the Beau Soleil Music College in 2003 as a development programme for youngsters from disadvantaged areas.
