Cape Town - Londolozi has taken top honours in Conde Nast Traveler's recently released list of Top 100 Hotels and Resorts in the World.
The five-camp private game reserve bordering the Kruger National Park got a 98.958 rating from readers, with supporting comments such as "the vacation of a lifetime—everything is fabulous" and "an absolutely incredible experience".
Covering 16 000ha of riverine forest wilderness, Londolozi
is the perfect location for a memorable bushveld safari. It is home to the Big 5 and has built up an incredible team of experienced rangers, trackers and naturalists over the past 85 years.
Apart from amazing wildlife experiences, the game reserve is also famous for its luxurious lodges and delicious cuisine.
"We are very excited to have been named the 1 hotel for 2014 and so pleased that Africa is getting positive coverage!" said Dave Varty from Londolozi.
As for Londolozi's secret to success, Varty says that their focus has only ever been to take guests on a meaningful experience beyond the classic African safari.
"We offer a personal touch which allows for an exceptionally tailored guest experience. Londolozi is always pioneering new ideas and innovations but we have ultimately realised that the most valuable things in life can no longer be bought, they have to be lived…that’s what we do," he explains.
Londolozi is joined by six other South African lodges and resorts, with Singita Sabi Sand
in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve following close behind in the fourth position on the list.
