What travellers have to say about FlySafair, voted best in Africa for 2019

FlySafair has been voted Best Airline in Africa in the 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards for the second year running. 

Tripadvisor explains, the Travellers’ Choice Awards "highlight the world’s top carriers based on the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for airlines worldwide gathered over a 12-month period" .

FlySafair performed well across the ratings categories, scoring particularly high marks under On board Experience, Customer Service, Check-in & Boarding, Value for Money and Cleanliness.

We had a look at the reviews about the airline on the community review site, and while most of them were positive, there were one or two prickly one.

Everything went well. Planes were on time, comfortable and with adequate legroom. A pity about the woman behind me on the return flight who pontificated loudly and incessantly. Fortunately the flight was only an hour.

Great budget airline. On time. Efficient and pleasant staff at the terminal and flight attendants. Plan ahead if you have baggage and book it with your flight online. No baggage you don't pay for it. 7kg carry on allowance. Good SMS and email updates on flight status for online check-in. Excellent competitor for the other domestic airlines.

"Got a very cheap offer for my flight, nice service, personnel super kind and always willing to help. It was a pleasant surprise. Only thing I would like more flights from Lanseria as OR Tambo is cumbersome. Otherwise very positive experience."

"It's a low cost airline, so one gets low cost service. Stale buns, small potions. Low cost taste. A low cost airline is a low cost airline no matter how one tries to dress it up."

"No luxuries, skinny seats and not much leg room. Great service, onetime flight and happy staff. You get from a to b, with no frills, but its ok, because you knew that when you booked."

I was on time to check-in but unlike other airlines they close 40mins before boarding time so I missed my flight by literally 1minute

With the bulk of the reviews being positive, the airline is indeed earning its stripes in the area of being the travellers' choice on this particular platform.
