Cape Town - 'Tis the season to be jolly, right? But with the jol comes the all the Christmas chol too.
You know... falling asleep in the sun with your hand on your chest. Or having to wrap a gift but you've bought just too little wrapping paper. How about retrieving the trusty, 40-year-old Christmas tree from the top shelf in the garage, and yes, having to match those high gift expectations to reality.
We love the festive season, but we can't help but laugh at Pick n Pay's new series of Christmas ads that hit the nail right on the head.
It shows not only the things we love most about the holidays, but also those “Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum” moments we're all too familiar with...
The supermarket chain teamed up with the iconic South African Ladysmith Black Mambazo vocal group to create not only the hilarious, home-hitting ads, but also a cheery Christmas song made especially for Mzansi lovers.
The song is a proudly South African take on the well-known Christmas carol 'The Little Drummer Boy'.
Check out the first and second chapters of the ad series here:
Feel fee to share your Christmas season dreads and other Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum holiday moments with us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on social media via Facebook, Twitteror Instagram.
Pick n Pay is also inviting South Africans to record and upload their best “Pa-Rum-Pum-Pum-Pum” moments for a chance to star in the four-part music video.
Video submissions close on the 30 November, and players need to be 18 years or older to submit a video.
The festive season flaws is a series of ads, and we can't wait for Chapter 3... set to launch on 5 December this year.
