Cape Town - We were warned... but the excitement of real snowfall remains epic, regardless of much we anticipated it.
This weekend was bitterly cold and miserable. But for adventure-lovers in SA, this meant getting up early to see the snow, and leaving footprints in the frost. On Friday night, after warnings of possible snowfall on Table Mountain
, eager hikers even spent a night on the Mother City mountain in anticipation of the snow!
While no photos of snow on Table Mountains have surfaced yet, snow was reported in other high-lying areas of the Western Cape, as well as the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal over the weekend.
For the coming week, more cold weather is expected to hit the country from Tuesday, onwards. The South African Weather Service warned of cold temperatures and rain across most of the country. You can read the full report here: Weather Update: Cold conditions leading in rainy week along SA coasts
