An hour and a half outside Cape Town, under the watchful eye of the Kasteelberge sits the Riebeek Valley - home to the town of Riebeek-Kasteel. The town is, perhaps, the Swartland's best kept secret.

But Riebeek-Kasteel has a bigmouth.

Danie Malan, owner of Allesverloren wine farm is letting the cat out of the bag with his new video series, Swartland: The Unique Heritage.

The series of videos will be posted on social media from 28 March 2019 and will feature some of the town's best suppliers. Danie is proud to show his town off to the world, saying "It's the people, the people make it extraordinary. Moreover, of course, excellent food and wine. It's lekker to live here."

Boasting 800 available beds in the town alone for visitors, it has all the delights a modern-day pleasure-seeker might need. Food, wine, beautiful scenery and more - a true hedonist's paradise!

Whether passing through, stopping for a quick coffee and fresh croissant at Panera Bakery or staying for the weekend, there is a plethora of epicurean wonders to discover in the valley.

The valley is renowned for its olives. Whether you pop it in a salad, on a pizza or enjoy it as tapas, go try the vast variety of olives and do the olive oil tasting at the Olive Boutique. Owned by Derek and Susan, it's undoubtedly one of the finest 'olive-aries' in the area.

Then go indulge in wine tasting at Allesverloren (and a visit with Danie, he insists), and sip on the farm's trademark Portuguese reds, while taking in the view.

Doing a braai while staying over in Riebeek-Kasteel? Drive down the road to the family-owned Deli-Co. Farmstyle Butchery - the biltong and lamb chops are well worth a stop.

Go listen to, feel, taste, hear and see all of this town's secrets before overtourism takes away that chance. Unwrap it and be swept away by its irrefutable charm.
