Cape Town - Table Mountain Cableway is ready for an influx of local and international visitors this upcoming festive season, with a new queuing system that's set to make trips up to the mountain even smoother.
"With peak summer season fast approaching, we have revamped our queuing system at the Lower Cable Station," says Table Mountain Cableway.
The Cableway has also recently been upgraded and now boasts a fresh re-branding of its cable cars. Exciting new changes include an exit and entrance switch at the top station and resurfaced pathways. The Café and Visitor Centre also have new looks after a few changes.

"Work done during the annual maintenance period ensures we meet the highest global cableway safety standards set by the Swiss Governing Body for Cableways,” says Cableway’s Managing Director Wahida Parker, adding that changes made are based on feedback from visitors and suggestions or ideas from staff.
In addition to the upgrades, Table Mountain Cableway has a number of year-round specials for visitors to take advantage of - with some deals specifically tailored for Capetonians, young, old and neighbouring city residents, and there are new summer sunset hours.
South African National Parks (SANParks) also implemented new differential conservation fees for Table Mountain National Park gates, which means that locals will gain entry to select parks at a cheaper fee than international tourists.

How the new queuing system works
Visitors who have pre-booked their tickets online can now join the faster-moving online ticketholders’ queue directly when they arrive for their trip up to Table Mountain, while non-ticketholders will join this queue after purchasing tickets at the Ticket Office.
Don't forget to take advantage of the new cable card offering discounted rates for adventurers who plan on heading up the mountain more than twice a year.
