Table Mountain staff plucked an unsuspecting Durban couple, Pearl Shoba and Muzi Sibanyoni, out of the queue, telling them that there was an issue with their tickets.
This, of course, was all just a ruse.
The couple were met by Table Mountain staff who handed them balloons, vouchers, a big basket of goodies and Table Mountain memorabilia to remember this moment.
"Why us?!" asked Pearl.
The couple were dumbfounded as photographers proceeded to snap photos of them like they were celebrities.
When they were asked to step out of the queue, Muzi said that they actually thought that they had done something wrong.
They have been dating for three months, and Muzi, a doctor in Durban, said that he'd been to the mountain before, but wanted to come with Pearl to experience it together.
And their date turned into the best one ever as they has a cable car all to themselves going up the mountain, and had VIP access all the way. No queues!
"We feel like celebrities," said Pearl.
Pearl couldn't stop raving about the beauty of Cape Town and the friendly people, while Muzi said that he was just glad to finally win something in his life!
