Every year, on the first Sunday of December, Cape Town's CBD goes wild.
The Festival of Lights illuminate Adderley Street and locals party the night away on the Grand Parade as they listen to live acts and proceed to celebrate throughout the central hub of the city.
Literally, the party goes the whole night! As you walk through the CBD on Monday morning, you are confronted by people on every corner, experiencing the consequences of being up all night.

Sparking the start of the festive season, the mayor has the honour of activating festive cheer, as the Christmas lights that run through this central strip of the city are switched on shortly after sunset.
