Cape Town - If you need a reason to believe South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries on the African continent with one of the most beautiful coasts in the world, take a look at this stunning video footage shared by National Geographic's photographer Thomas Peschak.

In Peschak's words, "South Africa is all about amazing coastline and incredible oceans" and we couldn't agree with him more.

With a sheer diversity, our oceans take centre stage and according to Minister of Environmental Affairs, Dr Edna Molewa, South Africa's oceans promote economic growth and boost job creation in line with the National Development Plan.

"We have an ocean space that is greater than our land territory," says Molewa.

Peschak, who traded in his science fieldwork for environmental photojournalist after realising that he could have a greater conservation impact with photographs than statistics in 2004, says there's nowhere on this planet where you can encounter a marine life with such ease in a short period of time than SA.

"South Africans are proud of their inheritance and they seem to be the happiest when sharing it with the rest of the world," says Peschak.

Peschak says after spending 20 years of photographic the world's oceans,  SA's coast is still his favourite place on earth.
