Friday, 16 March

SEE: Take a trip to Greece and sing under the stars when you head out to see Mamma Mia! The show is going down at the Galileo Open Air theatre in Century City this Friday from 18h00 to 21h00. A variety of food, alcohol and hot & cold beverages are available on location – cash only. Tickets cost between R89 and R175 and can be bought here.

DO: Get you tacos and tequila on this weekend at the aptly titled: Tacos & Tequila. This T&T event is taking place at The Daylight Studio in Bree Street between 16h00 and 22h00. The focus of the event is on the Chefs Menu of different Tacos paired with Tequila Cocktails. It also features a line-up of DJ's will keep you moving with the Mexican theme. Tickets cost R395 and can be bought via Quicket.

TASTE: Satiate your sweet and bubbly tooth cravings over at The Macaron & Bubbly event happening also at The Daylight Studio in Bree Street, but between 11h00 and 15h30. The choices of Bubbly are carefully selected and range from Brut, Demi-Sec and Rose - to delicately and perfectly match the sweetness of the various macarons. Tickets cost R395 and can be purchased through Quicket.

EXPLORE: Find yourself swaying to the sweet Jazz sounds of Dan Shout at the Jazz Night with Dan Shout event. This smooth event sets the tone over at The Piano Bar in Napier Street at 20h00 until 00h00 on Saturday, 17 March. The evening will include a glass of Prosecco for guests upon arrival, a three course menu prepared by in-house chef to accompany the jazzy tunes. Saturday, 17 March

SEE: Get down for charity at the Downward Dog for Dogs: Eden event going down - literally - at Eden On The Bay in Blouberg between 09h30 and 11h30. Your entry fee is what you choose to donate to the shelters rather than a set amount. If yoga isn't your scene - do not fret, feel free to browse the nearby restaurants, enjoy the views and, of course, meet some of the loving puppies and furbabies from the shelters. You can also enter the raffle and win prizes from event sponsors. Raffle tickets are R20 each, and all proceeds go to the event's beneficiaries. Attendees are urged to bring a yoga mat or towel - limited mats are available, but these are booked out quickly. Card facilities are not available for donations or raffle tickets - they do accept cash or Snapscan.

DO: Put your kids' pedals to the metal at this family fun event. Beehive Montessori Pre-School is hosting an Anything on Wheels event that features a circuit that the children complete on anything with wheels (1km). This is followed by fun activities and games for the whole family. Refreshments and food will be available for sale. 

TASTE: Feed your appetite for adventure and wine at the Wine Walk to Warwick event. The walk will be kicking off at Dirtopia Trail Centre between 08h00 and 11h15. Take in the scenic Stellenbosch surroundings and enjoy coffee and breakfast before the walk and lunch after. Wear comfy walking shoes, a hat, bring along a water bottle and follow the guides to the neigbouring farm to do some wine tastings - juice will be available for children under 18. Registration is at 07h30 - so that the walk can commence at 08h00. Tickets costs R250 per adult and R150 for children under 18 and can be bought here.

EXPLORE: Get your Easter on early at the Family Easter Egg Hunt & Open Day event taking place at Living Hope in Kommetjie Road between 09h00 and 13h00. There will be a host of other activities such as Jumping Castles, Facepainting, Food Stalls, Tours and information tables on the various programmes the organisers run in the communities.

Sunday, 18 March

SEE: Groove on over to see Freshlyground & The Rudimentals in concert for free at De Waal Park. Festivities take place between 14h00 until 18h00. Be sure to get there early to get a good spot! You can be sure to enjoy some great food, music and family time. There are also loads of giveaways and prizes to be won on the day. 

DO: Keep the Sunday music vibes going with Blacksmith at Alma Cafe between 18h00 and 22h00. Enjoy good food, good music and good people over beers, burgers and bumping jams. Bookings can be made here.

TASTE: Get yourself a bargain at Van Hunks in Kloof this Sunday with their Sunday special that gives you TWO Standard Burgers (chicken, beef or veg) with onion rings and chips for R100! Toppings are extra, but that bargain is sure to be a tasty feast.

EXPLORE: Get fit this Sunday at the Rock Hopper Waterfall event going down in Tweede Tol. This three hour hike will have you hopping with excitement and swimming in every rock pool you pass by - soaking up the sun and fresh falling water.
