Cape Town- April presents yet another long weekend but we aren't complaining. We just enjoyed Easter with our families and who wouldn't want an extra couple of days off in a row - from Thursday, 27 April to 1 May if your're taking Friday 28 April off that is.
Here is a day-to-day guide to make the most of your weekend if you're in and around the city of Jozi.
Thursday, 27 April
As South Africa celebrates Freedom Day, there couldn't be a better time to hit the museums - preferably teaching the younger ones about South Africa's heritage and checkered history that has turned us into the country we are today.
You can go check out Freedom Park situated on Salvokop in Pretoria. It includes a memorial with a list of the names of those killed in the South African Wars, World War I, World War II as well as during the apartheid era.
You can spend the rest of the day at the National Zoological Gardens, enjoying a quaint, quiet picnic.

Friday, 28 April
There is so much to do at Gold Reef City, you can literally spend the whole day there.
Start your day at Apartheid Museum in the morning and learn about the history of South Africa. Then head from the serious to the fun by checking out the all this amusement and theme park has to offer.
If you're in the mood for a new perspective, why not flip out over Joburg with a helicopter flight where you can see Johannesburg CBD and Soweto.
Enjoy Dinner at Boston Barbecue at the The Gold Reef City Casino and spend the night over at the Gold Reef City Hotel.

Saturday, 29 April
Soweto has many adventures and activities that one can do. The Orlando Towers offer many adventure. Try the Bungee jumping or Scad Freefalling at the Orlando Towers.
If you are feeling for a braai, Chaf Pozi is just situated there. Just around the corner is the famous Vilakazi Street where you have a variety of choices on where to have lunch.

Sunday, 30 April
Montecasino offers whole round entertainment suited for everyone.
Priscilla, a heart-warming tale of three drag artist friends, will be showing at the Montecasino Theatre.
Also check-out the three day market, filled with gourmet food trucks and stalls, delicious drinks, craft beers, cocktails, some of SA's top bands, kiddies entertainment, trinkets will be on show.
