Winterfest is returning to Afriski Mountain Resort

If you've been wanting a snow adventure without leaving the Mother Continent, then Lesotho's Winterfest is for you.

Just 5 hours drive from Johannesburg, Afriski offers skiing and snowboarding fun during the winter months of June, July and August.

And in an early surprise, this weekend the resort received the first snowfall of the season.

So as Autumn settles in, there can be no better time to start planning your winter snow adventure.

Returning to Afriski Mountain Resort for its fifth year in a row - WinterFest marks the start of the winter ski and snowboarding season. Seen as Africa's best winter music festival, hosted at Afriski Mountain Resort, and featuring some of South Africa and Lesotho's biggest artists.

"The Winterfest is a great way to kick off the season, it’s Southern Africa’s most unique music festival and it really highlights everything the Mountain Kingdom has to offer. Snow, Basotho hospitality and incredible music," say the Afriski organisers.

  • MAIN STAGE: Our main stage is an outdoor wonder where you can expect the best of our artist lineup to rock out to the max! If you’re here for the big bands, then the main stage is where it’s at.
  • COOLER BOX STAGE: This is the ultimate outdoor DJ setup. Expect the hear your favourite tunes – from your favourite DJs – pumping over the slopes. Get your ski on…
