Cape Town is a playground for the avid hikers, even the avid walkers. But who better to narrow down your extensive options than Tim Lundy, an accredited Mountain and Cultural guide and a volunteer with Wilderness search and rescue unit.

Not to mention he has been hiking the Western Cape Mountains for over 37 years.

Together with his father legendary hiking author Mike Lundy, Tim has helped establish many local hikes and walks. He has written his own walking book, Family Walks in Cape Town as well as have his own radio show on Cape Talk, "Hiking with Tim Lundy".

He and his wife Gillian started Glamtrails which  has unique hiking experiences in the Hemel en Aarde valley outside of Hermanus. His favourite walks are those he does with his younger daughter, along with the same trails he discovered as a child with his father.

If you're going to attempt any hiking this summer start with these three as suggested by Tim himself. Check out Cape Town Hiking on Instagram to see more great hiking inspiration.
