This Nordic nation stays true to its name, it is the land of ice.

You may not know that Iceland is regarded the land of both fire and ice because of its geological extremes. From their active volcanoes to the monumental glaciers, there really is everything for everyone.

The online travel series Photo Number 6 combines the adventure of travel with the joy of photography. Host Alan Fletcher explores the world looking for that elusive photographic image that totally encapsulates the emotion, geography and human connections he makes.

In this episode he captures the glacial lagoon and  icy landmarks Iceland is known for. While the island mourns one of the glaciers they lost due to climate change he captures what is left of the natural history of the island and ensures that it is never erased regardless of the climate change.
