Sober September. Ocsober. Finding ways to detox is always a good idea. Well, maybe for those with the right amount of willpower. Mind over matter.

Yet, Ocsober has just about ended, and it's time for a well-deserved 'Cheers!' as we plan to indulge in some weird and wonderful drinks served in some of the most beautiful spaces in our cities. And what do they always say, "if you're going to do something wrong, do it right"

Here's where to grab a proper cocktail or beer this festive season. (Yes, festivities have officially started in our books!)

Art of Duplicity - Cape Town

Cause | Effect - Cape Town

The bar recently moved to the V&A, and is on fire judging by social media! Serving creative cocktails consisting of interesting ingredients like rooibos, brandy, buchu and citrus soda. Drinks and dishes are inspired by iconic features in and around Cape Town - it's the perfect after-work meeting-up spot.

Sin+Tax - Jozi

This Rosebank bar on Bolton Road is number 88 on the extended list of the World’s 50 Best Bars for 2019. Expect drinks that include: Glenfiddich 12yr, pineapple and lemon verbena, lavender coconut cream and wild gooseberry juice. (See below)

S43 at That Brewing Co. - Durban

Feeling adventurous after a month of no beer? Have a beer at this laid-back Durban bar. The Irish Cream Ale draught to be exact. With an upfront, delicious malt character and creamy mouth feel that is emphasised by the use of nitrogen to pour this beer - it's a pretty unique experience.
