Cape Town - Music festivals, wine festivals, flower festivals, you name it and there will be a festival for it. SA is ready to showcase the best of its local talent and flair this season.

Here are 35 festivals and events to catch in SA! Where will you find your escape?

CAPE TOWN & SURROUNDS

1. Groot Constantia Wine Tours

The legendary wines of the Estate may be tasted and bought every day, 7 days a week.

2. Cape Town International Kite Festival

Embrace your right to fly and to have fun at the Cape Town International Kite Festival on 27 and 28 October in Muizenberg, Cape Town in support of Cape Mental Health.

When: 27 & 28 October 2018

Where: Muizenberg, Cape Town

3. Benguela Cove Private Vineyard Tour 

Receive Benguela's VIP treatment as you and your guests are taken on a guided tour of the estate and vineyards. 

Enjoy a tasting session of five estate wines in vineyards while overlooking the Bot River Lagoon. The tour culminates with a gourmet 3-course meal at the Manor House complemented with award-winning wines.

4. Protea Party

The 5th annual Protea Party takes place at Anthonij Rupert Estate, in celebration of the Protea wine range. 

The evening includes welcome cocktails, live entertainment and a fabulous 3-course harvest style feast all included in the ticket price.

5. Kaleo Market Day

Take the whole family to the Kaleo Market Day. Partake in the annual MTB event filled with challenging off road cycle road if you're looking to challenge yourself or just enjoy a fun-filled family friendly market day. Weave through selections of crafts, arts & interesting products and yummy food stalls to still your hunger. There's also a fully catered bar inside the venue, an outside wine cellar as well as a cosy beer tent!

6. Cape Town International Boat Show

Browse imported luxury craft, catamarans, gear and equipment at SA's premier boating showcase. Boat owner or not, there will be fun for everyone!

7. Oyster & Champagne Festival

Oysters from the west and east coasts are enjoyed with Cape Town's finest bubbly.

8. Wine on the River

Sip wines from Robertson, Ashton, Bonnievale and McGregor while relaxing beside the Breede River.

9. Cape Town Bierfest

10. Rocking the Daisies

Rock your way into spring at this epic annual festival! Enjoy a plethora of SA's best musical guests while camping out in one of the most vibrant festivals spring has to offer.

11. Tour and Beer Tasting 

The SAB World of Beer is the definitive home of beer in South Africa, uncovering the history of this fascinating beverage through a fun, creative and informative tour. 12. Jozi Tese Festival

13. Soweto Food Truck Festival

Handmade products from more than 120 of SA's most talented artisans are showcased at this exquisite fair. Soak up the Spring air from the rooftop and splurge on the trendiest buys in Jozi. Meet up with Foster the People, Mac Miller

15. RMB WineX

Sample award winning  wines, brandy and Cape port from the biggest brand names to the quaintest boutique brands at WineX. 16. Rocco De Villiers - Just be Yourself

Roco De Villiers is living proof that we ought to follow our dreams no matter the circumstances, or how weird our dreams may sound to other people if we have the passion for it, why not do it see where it takes us. 17. Annual Cheese Market 2018

Get cheesy this spring over at this gouda market experience. The event includes wine, whisky and beer pairings, mouth watering cheese dishes with the health advises on cheese from invited health experts. So, cheese lovers come mingle with the cheese makers and wine experts.

18. FNB Whiskey Live Festival

Famed for showcasing the widest selection of whisky under one roof and following global trends, the world’s largest whisky festival now adds a range of other premium spirits for tasting – including gin and vodka – to its impressive offering!

19. Durban International Blues Festival 

Celebrate its 14th successive year and sway along to the smooth blues from local, national and international blues artists.

20. Poetry Africa Festival 

Attend the 22nd Poetry Africa Festival International Poetry Festival and witness the works from SA and international participants.

PORT ELIZABETH

21. Castle Lager Oktoberfest PE 2018

The Castle Lager Oktoberfest PE 2018 will take place over three days, with a wide selectin of beer, German cuisine, music and various other activities to entertain the whole family. This is the ideal event to spend a couple of days in the area enjoying local entertainment and hospitality.

22. PE Express First Choice Kids & Baby Expo 

Celebrate the 9th year of what's called 'the biggest family expo in the Eastern Cape' at the Boardwalk's Exhibition Level. It is promised to be a weekend of indoor entertainment and fun for the whole family. Parents will be able to grab a bite and relax or browse to their hearts content as there's expected to be lots of fun and action to keep the kids busy.

23. Mangaung Rose Festival

A glorious celebration of roses takes place in the City of Roses this spring. Activities will be hosted throughout the city. Expect competitions, pageants, markets, theatre performances and residents opening their beautiful rose-filled gardens to the public.

24. AfriSki #CrankChaos Maluti Mountain Bike Festival

The one of a kind mountain bike festival at 3222m above sea level, where visitors can test the gear with a choice of downhill paths. You will be lifted up to 200m and then free your way down a selection of mountain paths - giving you the true feeling of the bike. Test gear, explore the latest equipment and stick around for some exciting downhill races!

25. Free State Flower Festival

In it's third year this new flower festival will hit the Free State once again. You can expect exhibits, floats, music and dance items.

26. Ficksburg Cherry Festival

The cherry capital of the world welcomes visitors to the much anticipated cherry festival. Explore what exhibitors have to show at the festival grounds, or enjoy a selection of tours.

GARDEN ROUTE

27. Swellendam 100 MTB 

This is a 2 day MTB adventure of non-technical and fun riding in and around beautiful Swellendam, South Africa's 4th oldest town!

Where: Langeberg mountains as well as the Breede River and also through the Bontebok National Park, Swellendam

28. Leisure Isle Festival

Enjoy dozens of stalls catering for every taste. The event promises to offer a mouth-watering array of food, drink and fresh produce, as well as locally-produced arts and crafts, toys, a huge array of books, indigenous and other plants and many other delights!

29. Stilbaai Touch Rugby

Stilbaai Touchies is South Africa's largest and most prestigious Touch Rugby event. The tournament dates back to 1978 when a group of holidaymakers in the small coastal town got together to formalise all the social games that used to take place in a once-off tournament.
