Nestled between mountains lies a small town of Calitzdorp, home to De Krans Wines.

All things bloom in spring and it is no different in the Klein karoo - fruit trees are in bloom and the De Krans Blossom festival is inviting you to welcome the start of the new season with them.

The weekend kick-starts with a five or 10km fun run/walk that will take you wandering through the blooming orchards and the De Krans vineyards. Proceeds from the festival will be donated to Friends of Calitzdorp Animals.

We love a good time mixed with a good cause!

After the run, cool down with some live music courtesy of Matt Hatters - although the performance might have you on your feet again dancing the day away.

Some of the 20 wines that can be enjoyed include Chenin Blanc, Pinotage, Rosé and Moscato.

What's wine tasting without a pairing of amazing treats? A deli will be available with fresh produce made in the Calitzdorp area, as well as a bistro with ready-to-serve meals. If you need something different the people of De Krans have also come up with two amazing cocktails made from their wines that will also be served at the festival.

Although the Blossom Festival is on a wine warm, the event is not just for wine drinkers. Driving to the cellar is an enjoyable experience in itself. The small town of Calitzdorp lies along a popular tourist route: R62, the activities of the festival and the rich history of the town make for a well-rounded experience fit for the whole family and friends.
