Cape Town - Have you been itching for a new tattoo or just love the tattoo industry? The second annual South African International Tattoo Convention (SAITC) will be returning to Cape Town in March after its big debut in 2017, and they're bringing 80 of the world's coolest tattoo artists to ink the city red.

The tattoo machines will be whizzing at The Lookout at V&A Waterfront from 23 - 25 March, where tattoo enthusiasts and the curious public can learn more about the tattoo styles, the culture and maybe even get a tattoo at the event! There will also be live music to keep the mood electric and food for those who need a boost after their tattoo session.

Besides the trailblazing talent of our local artists around South Africa like Jon James Case, Dokter Irie, Wesley Von Blerk, Ross Hallam and Lauren Peachfish to name a few, the convention will also host many tattoo maestros from Germany, Switzerland, US, China, Australia, Ireland and many other countries. Styles range from Japanese, classic, contemporary, colour to black and grey. You check out the full list here.

If you want to get inked at the convention, you can email your chosen artist before the event and make a booking directly, or if you're feeling bolder and spontaneous you can just get a small flash tattoo at the event, which you can choose from any of the artist's pre-drawn designs.

“The tattooing community has been rapidly growing in popularity throughout the last years. We believe this is due to the acceptance of tattooing as a well-respected art-form and introduction into mainstream media," says founder Waldo Del Rocca, a resident tattoo artist at Cape Electric Tattoo who will also be available for tattoos at the event.

"The main objective of The South African International Tattoo Convention is to educate the public on health perspective and the correct way to approach getting a tattoo, as well as introducing the public to a wide range of new styles and cultures."
