February events for those who've found love and those who haven't

February is the month of love - depending on your relationship status. 

But outside of the jam-packed 14 February Friday, the month will be hosting many fun-filled events - especially in Cape Town.

Valentine's Day 14 February

Grande Provence, Franschhoek

Indulge in an eclectic dinner or opt for a romantic picnic on this beautiful heritage wine estate.

Details: The cost per person of the Valentine’s Day is R800, while the picnic is available at R600 per person until 16:00. Explore Thyself | Speed Dating, Durban

If you're willing to make fast small talk while looking for love, then this Curiocity event is perfect for you.

Details: It will be R50 at the door at Durban's Curiocity Hostel for speed daters and non-participants can join the party for free.

Valentine's Blues Music Festival, Krugersdorp

This event only takes place on 15 February at the Nirox Sculpture Park in the Cradle of Humankind - only 45 minutes from the centre of Johannesburg - and guarantees a day of live music, food markets and chilling with your loved one.

Details: Online it will be R300-R350 per person and R400 at the gate, depending on availability.

a-ha live in Cape Town

The famous Norwegian band will be performing on Valentine's Day to fans in the Mother City.

Details: They will be performing at Green Point A Track, tickets available on webtickets.  

Mystery Ghost Bus, Johannesburg

Get spooky with your date on this tour of the city's creepy history.

Details: It runs from 19:00 with pickup at the Pound and Penny Pub at Sunnyside Park Hotel and runs until midnight - so dress warmly. Tickets are R419 per person, excluding meals and drinks.

Valentine's Dinner Dance, Durban 

Sit down to a six-course plated dinner to the sounds of Beat Route at The Oyster Box - also happening on 15 February. 

Details: It will take place in The Grill Room and The Ocean Terrace and will cost R1 200 per person.

ECR Kings and Queens of Comedy: Valentine's Edition

Laugh out loud about the trials and tribulations of love at this annual comedy event. Includes big-hitters like Tumi Morake, Rob van Vuuren, Nik Rabinowitz and Ebenhaezer Dibakwane.

Details: It will take place at the Durban ICC with tickets going for R180.Picnic at the Aquarium

Get the chance to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium after dark complete with a picnic in your own special spot.

Details: Prices range from R650 to R1600 per couple depending on which spot you pick and there will be a wine list available on the evening. 

#WonderOfLove Table Mountain Campaign

If you're looking for a different kind of date in February, the Table Mountain Cableway is offering half-price tickets on the sunset special after 18:00 every day until 29 February.

Details: The campaign is running in partnership with Shimansky who will be selling their ring collections at the Shop at the Top - you can also win one of the rings by posting your most romantic photo from your trip up the mountain to social media and using the hashtags #WonderOfLove and #tablemountainshimansky and like or follow the Cableway and Shimansky on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. 

Punk Drunk Love

Radisson RED in Waterfront is hosting a free event for those who want to rock out and declare (or denounce) their love.

Details: Starts at 17H30 and there's a prize for best dressed.
