Cape Town - If you're after a good dose of culture and entertainment you'd best head to the beautiful seaside towns of Onrus river and Hermanus over the upcoming long weekend in August.

From 6 - 10 August 2015, Hermanus will not only celebrate Women's Day with one epic festival, but two world-class events to keep visitors entertained.

While the Kalfiefees will keep everyone entertained with good music and performance art shows, the Food & Wine festival will ensure that everyone is well fed during the winter days.

You'll also be able to see the southern right whales and their calves from the iconic Hermanus harbour in-between events.

Traveller24 Tip: Although the official Hermanus Whale Festival is counting down to happen on 2 - 4 October this year, it's best to get to the town before the masses flock here to see the whales in all their glory.

This year, the Food & Wine festival coincides with the popular Hermanus Kalfiefees, which will make these two epic Hermanus festivities even cooler than before.
