Cape Town - The Atterbury Property Group is set to open its much anticipated 131 000m² Mall of Africa this week.
The mall will officially open on Thursday, 28 April and is said to become South Africa’s biggest single-phase shopping mall development to date, forming part of the even bigger Waterfall City development.
"The new super-regional Mall of Africa represents the heart of the ambitious Waterfall – a city developed on a scale beyond anything South Africa has known. Mall of Africa will form the iconic hub of the innovative Waterfall precinct, perfectly situated between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Mall of Africa will be a visual, social and economic anchor within Waterfall," say the developers.
What you can expect:
Over 300 shops, with H&M, Zara, Hamleys, Cotton On and Forever 21 among the international brands opening flagship stores.
Mall of Africa has also been designed to include international trends, environmentally sustainable materials and technologies, incorporating "new urbanism principles of walkable, mixed-use environments to create a truly cutting-edge shopping experience."
Along with the retail aspect of Waterfall City, the development will include offices, homes, hotels, a hospital, light industry and the all-important lifestyle and leisure components to make it a "visual, social and economic anchor", say the developers.
