Cape Town - SA Weather Service (SAWS) predicts rainfall across most of the country on Tuesday, 13 February.
Although drought-hit Cape Town will also expect a 30% chance of rain, its scorching high maximum temperature of 36°C does not bode well for the Mother City during the water crisis.
Most cities in the Western Cape will experience temperatures above 30°C on Tuesday, with Vredendal reaching a maximum of 40°C - the highest in the country.

Rain and thunderstorms
On Monday evening, 12 February, SAWS issued a watch for severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours leading to possible flooding expected over south-western KZN, southern parts of Free State and along the Lesotho border.
On Tuesday, a 60% chance of rain is forecast over central and western Eastern Cape, all of Free State and Lesotho, western KZN, extreme southern tip of North West, central and eastern parts of Northern Cape, and the extreme north-eastern part of Western Cape.
A 30% chance of rain is expected over the rest of the country except most of western and central Limpopo.
Even though Cape Town is expecting a 30% chance of rain on Tuesday - after 30-60% rainfall on Friday, 9 February, dam levels have dropped by 0.6% since last week and the current dam storage level is 24.9% full. See data below:
Minimum temperatures on Tuesday will be cool in the northern and central interior and warm to mild throughout the rest of the country.
The coldest place in SA will be Ermelo in Mpumalanga, dropping to 12°C.
Maximum temperatures will be very hot in the Western Cape and hot in western parts of Northern Cape. It will be cool over Mpumalanga's and Free State's highveld region, and warm throughout the rest of SA.
The hottest place in SA will be Vredendal in Western Cape, reaching a blistering hot 40°C.

Pretoria in Gauteng will be a hot 29°C, while Johannesburg will reach 27°C. Bloemfontein in the Free State will be 28°C.
Along the coastal regions, Cape Town in the Western Cape will be a scorching 36°C, while Durban in KZN will reach a warm 26°C. Port Elizabeth in Eastern Cape will be a mild 24°C.
