Cape Town - South Africa has once again been recognised as one of the best places to visit globally at the recent 21st World Travel Awards held in Anguilla in the Caribbean.

South Africa was especially praised for their safari offering, with the country as a whole winning the prize for the the World's Leading Safari Destination

Other sub-Saharan African countries like Botswana, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe have dominated this prestigious recognition before, with Kenya winning the World's Leading Safari Destination in 2013.

Apart from being named as the World's Leading Safari Destination, other individual institutions also won awards for their service excellence in making South Africa the leading safari destination.

It is not only our great safari offering that got the world's attention. Johannesburg's Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa won as the World's Leading Boutique Hotel for the 15th consecutive year, proving once again than South Africa's hospitality is world class. The Saxon's website, too, won the award for being the World’s Leading Hotel Website.
