Cape Town - A bit like something out of Dr. Seuss' 'And to think I saw it all on Mulberry Street
,' a Mirage F1 fighter jet became part of the passing parade on the N1 close to Midrand on Heritage Day, causing commuters to do a double take or two.
Of course the amused and confused motorists took to Twitter to share pictures and jokes about the strange occurrence, giving a bit of a nod to our proudly South African tradition of good humour. Also see: 34 stunning AAD Airshow pics

According to Centurion Rekord
, Centow Roadside Assistance were responsible for the transportation of the jet and had been contracted to move it from Aerosud, based close to the Waterkloof Air Force base to Paramount in Midrand.
Jacques Terblanche from Centow said that the jet did not have an engine and it would have taken too long to disassemble it, so the decision was made to tow instead. Did you spot the plane?
