(West Coast Way)
Cape Town - Technology has changed the way we travel and see the world enormously. Some might argue that the checking-in, the constant taking of selfies and our addiction to social media has scared authentic travelling for life.

Others, however, try to enhance travelling with technology without taking away from the personal experience that travelling is.
The new West Coast Way, a program that aims to expand the tourism offering in the beautiful and unique West Coast of South Africa, has succeeded in combining new world technology with the experience of the old-world feel of the West Coast.
The West Coast Way can be compared to the similar, highly successful Midlands Meander Map
, which helped boost the tourism and traveller experience at the foot of the Drakensberg in KwaZulu-Natal, exponentially.
What sets the West Coast Way apart, though, is that the new traveller routes are not only obtainable in hard copy at various points. The new West Coast Way's 2 unique routes can now be downloaded via an internationally recognised travel app named Tourism Radio
This means that anyone who happens to be in the beautiful West Coast, but are unable to find a hard copy of the list containing the many things to do in the area, can now have access to a list of 101 things to do in the West Coast
directly via their smart devices.
The app shows the 101 things to do in a list format, as well as on a map so as to coincide your whereabouts with the attractions in the area.
This is what the app would look like in list format:

Carmen Lerm, founder of the West Coast Way, explain another fantastic feature that the app offers is the 'audio function
'. Users are be able to plug in their smart devices into their car radio, or listen from the handset as the app highlights lots of interesting things that you can see and do in the Cape West Coast Biodiversity Corridor and surrounds.
Lerm says, “It will be like having your own personal tour guide in the car with you. For families travelling with kids the app can highlight the best family friendly attractions along the West Coast. The West Coast Way's 101+ points of interest app has something for everyone – whether you are a history buff, photographer, foodie or adrenalin junkie – this app can show you to the best that the West Coast has to offer.”
