Cape Town - It's a cliche, but we have to call it... South Africa is an absolute treasure chest of hidden gems!
And we're not even talking about the endless amounts of hidden beaches, waterfalls, secret forests and other nooks and crannies in Mzansi... We're referring to our travellers. And nothing makes us more excited than seeing a new generation of travel lovers rise up.
Case in point is Saeed Rodrigues, a 15-year-old amateur photographer from the Western Cape. Rodrigues is currently attending Paarl Boys High, but shoots out in his spare time to film some of SA's most breathtaking locations.

T24: When did you first start taking photos/video?
SR: I first started taking pictures about a year ago, I just did it for fun really and I never thought of sharing it to social media, since it was just an upcoming hobby. Shortly after film making began to interest me and I fell in love with it.
T24: What do you love about it?
SR: I take photos and films because I love capturing special moments and I think of it as a memory capsule that takes you back to when it happened. It reminds you of how epic it was or whatever emotions were attached to that place.
T24: Describe your average weekend and/or holiday? Do you travel a lot?
SR: I try and get out as much as possible, usually on weekends. I study, but occasionally I'll squeeze in a little mission around my area or just explore somewhere nearby. I travel a lot during holidays - my family and I would go on a road trip to some place far away and camp out for about two weeks or more.
T24: Who do you travel with?
SR: I travel with my family - my parents and my two brothers and I couldn't ask for better travel buddies... And it's my brothers Landy in the pictures. I love that car!
T24: What’s the favourite destination you’ve ever been to?
SR: Well, my favourite destination that I've filmed so far is definitely the Eastern Cape. It's such a beautiful province and I'm for sure going back there in the future. But my favourite destination I've been to is Botswana. I was about 11-years-old when I went there, so I wasn't really worried about cameras and filming back then... but I really wish that I was because that country is so majestic and wonderful and I would've loved to have filmed it just to look back on it and show the world what I did and the amazing place that it is!
T24: Do you see yourself doing this in the long run?
SR: I don't know what the future holds for me and what I'll be doing... but travelling and photography and film is my passion and I can really see myself doing this for the rest of my life.
