Cape Town - It's time to celebrate our natural wonders.
The 7th of July marks the date when the 7 of the world's wonders were officially chosen as hundreds of millions of voters participated in three historic global campaigns: the New7Wonders of Nature, the New7Wonders of the World and the New7Wonders Cities.
And this Friday, 7 July 2017 - countries across the globe will mark the inaugural, international 7 Wonders Day – dedicated to the 21 iconic wonders chosen a decade ago.

Celebrating heritage, humanity and participation on this new international day, Table Mountain Cableway - as custodians of Africa’s only New7Wonder - is calling on South Africans to come together to celebrate Table Mountain and other attractions the country has to offer, by sharing their photographs and stories using the global hashtag #7WondersDay on this the 10th anniversary.
Table Mountain - A wonder of Nature
Table Mountain is often the first thing you think of when mentioning Cape Town - the mountain that can be seen from every part of the city is South Africa's natural wonder, a real pride and joy.
The cableway opened in 1929 and is the 'go-to' attraction for tourists, while other braver souls dare to hike up for more of an adventure.
"Through 7 Wonders Day we are able to celebrate Table Mountain as an officially elected New 7 Wonder of Nature", says Cableway MD Wahida Parker.
"There is so much beauty in this country, its hard not to want to share it with the world" continued Wahida.
