While there has been some good rainfall in drought-stricken
Cape Town recently, water restrictions continue as locals aim to evade Day
Zero. Most locals have learned to cope with 50 litres of water per person daily,
but how have international guests been impacted?
Cape Town Tourism asked some international
visitors to share their experiences while staying in the Mother City.
Enver Duminy, CEO at Cape Town Tourism, says that “The panic around water
shortages may have galvanised tourism professionals into action and it has
produced some fine, innovative responses,” adding that this has also led to
greater sustainability in tourism.
He welcomes more tourists to the city saying, “Come and see for yourself
and join us in practicing sustainable tourism so that Cape Town can be enjoyed
for generations to come.”
