Despite some of the taboos that exist around tattoos in Japan, Horiyoshi III has decades of tattooing under his belt, cementing a legendary legacy at the age of 73.
He is based in the city of Yokohama and there's about a five to six-month waiting list for an appointment - but you can also check out his artwork at the Yokohama Tattoo Museum that Horiyoshi has personally curated and is managed by his wife.
