Ever thought about visiting the world capital of 'ugly'?
Sitting pretty in a stunning valley, tucked away in between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea in central Italy, is Piobbico. A picturesque medieval town with lots of historic buildings, cafes, boutique shops, that is surrounded by lush forests.
Though, despite the almost overwhelming beauty of the town it has become known as the 'home of the ugly'.

Established in 1879, was the Club dei Brutti or 'The Ugly Club'. The BBC reports that the club was the original Tinder in a sense, as it was initially established as a matchmaking club. And as the club grew and grew, the villagers made it its mission to ensure the members focus on what's on the inside, rather than being caught up in just considering superficial beauty.
But the members aren't actually ugly, they are a mix of people from the town, all with different degrees of attractiveness. Like any dating app.
The town only has a popularisation of about 2 000 people, and everyone knows each other here. So, the club is still a great way for residents to gather.
