Go chase the mellow yellow flower route this September.
Driving from Cape Town to Hermanus, over Sir Lowry’s Pass, past the Elgin wine valley - after stopping at Peregrine for a pie - be sure to take the road to Caledon. You are welcomed by fields and fields of Canola popping with the most electric yellow hue.
Every year, from around the end of July to mid-October, these fields are in perfect bloom.

It is a 'wow' moment, and much different from any other flower route as this is nature's most elegant display of colour blocking.
And Instagram has taken notice. Canola field selfies, snaps and drive-by videos of the fields are all over the Gram.
