This is one of Durban's oldest neighbourhoods. Leafy and green, graffitied walls aplenty, dotted with colonial-style houses, it overlooks the port. A relaxed atmosphere, the 'hood is focused on environmentally-friendly goods and good food.

Activity is centred around Helen Joseph Road (formerly Davenport Road) and Bulwer Road where the vibe is at.

Here's you check-list when visiting this KZN neighbourhood:

1. Food

We said this hood loves its good food. Here's some proof.

The Glenwood Bakery makes artisanal bread and other bakes goods like delectable pastries. It has a small cafe attached to it which offers simple, classic cafe fair. A firm favourite with the cool people of Durban.

Also be sure to go for their pizza nights - all week nights.

Earthmother Organic offers a variety of organic/natural vegetarian and vegan foods. Go for the delightful cafe and supermarket where you can shop some organic veg every Friday.

2. Drinks

Grab a cocktail or beer with a burger at Amsterdam Bar. Laid-back outdoor chilling and music and games nights add to its fun factor.

Grab a drink or some delicious burgers in the garden courtyard at Spoonful Eatery. A big vibe every first Thursday of the month!

3. Visit, Do, Shop

Get a Kiff haircut from Nev The Barber. Only "Laka Vibes" as they say.

Be inspired by the contemporary art at the Kwazulu-Natal Society of the Arts or stop at the courtyard Art Cafe for some grub. Here are some of the latest exhibitions to check out at the gallery.

Glenwood First Thursday - A monthly art and culture explosion in Glenwood, sees pop-ups like vintage clothing shop Tinz Clothing make a colourful appearance.

The KwaZulu-Natal Institute for Architecture is also a nice stop when in this 'hood.
