Booking a shuttle or Uber to take you from wine farm to wine farm is the way we've always known it. But now, this has changed forever.
Travelling by shuttle on land from wine farm to wine farm is no longer the 'It' thing to do it seems, as taking a helicopter (bubbly included on board for passengers) makes for a much more epic entrance and exit ride.
Not your average every day wine tour at around R9K, but reserved for a more special occasion (maybe a proposal?) is the new wine-tasting-by-chopper wine farm hopping option offered up by Wine Flies Tours called Dragon Flies.

Dragon Flies helicopter flights offer bespoke (and truly unique) wine farm hopping at over 7,6 km (25 000) up in the air.
Travelling from Cape Town to Vergenoegd Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, taking in the beautiful day, watching the famous duck parade, sipping on delicious wines and taking an actual duck selfie with a duckling before being whisked off by heli to Franschhoek is what I call class.
The views from above from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek leg was stupendously stunning. Landing at Chamonix wine estate we were met by the winemaker who took us through to a private underground cellar for a tasting of several wines and a chocolate pairing with Wine Flies artisan choccies. All. So. Delicious.
