The love shack

Although Prince Harry proposed to Meghan over a pot roasted chicken and in the comfort of their English cottage – we cannot help but wonder how steamy their trip to the beautiful Botswana was.

The couple decided to take the trip on the spur of the moment and in an interview with the Guardian discussing the juicing details of their engagement they indicated that it allowed them to spend some time alone together and get to know one another better.

“We camped with each other out under the stars….then we were really by ourselves” as stated by Harry.

The couple spent a splendid five days in the African bush to bond and enjoy the natural wildlife. The couple is reported to have spent their time in Botswana at the Meno a Kwena, a resort that is located in Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.

The park is renowned for its tented rooms that are nestled within the natural fauna and flora of Botswana.

We are proud that their ‘love shack’ was in Africa – where else can you get away from the bustling cities to escape to the expanse of natural wonder?

Check out the gushing soon-to-be married couple, as they chat about Botswana and their love affair:

Best places to get on one knee in SA

Popping the big question can be nerve-wracking and exhilarating at the same time – to get the perfect moment with the ideal lighting that sets the mood can always be a tricky feat to achieve.  We all want the moment to be spectacular and with so many local places to head to, who needs the Eiffel Tower when we have God’s Window – to get down on one knee and start your life together.

We decided to take a closer look at the ideal spots in South Africa to propose.

God’s Window, Mpumalanga

The ideal lover’s spot as you look out onto the horizon. Located in the heart of Mpumalanga it is one of the most breath-taking viewpoints in South Africa.

Rocktail Beach Camp, Maputaland, Durban

Who doesn’t love their own private beach to bask in, as you hear the wave’s crash on the shore. The Rocktail Beach is located 20 minutes out of Durban and provides a haven for sea life and seclusion. If you want to let the fish join you as you ask ‘will you marry me’ then the Rocktail Dive centre can help to organise and underwater proposal.

Northcliff, Johannesburg

The City of Gold provides a backdrop of lights that shine brightly as you look out on Northcliff – known as a popular spot to take in the cities views. Asking for your partner’s hand in marriage as the skyline lights up – creates a dreamy setting.
