Picking the most romantic spot in South Africa is kind of hard. Living in a country of such beautiful diversity, it's difficult to choose a single region, city or town that would make everyone's heart skip a beat.

However, after giving it some thought, we came to the conclusion that something about the West Coast just makes our knees weak. Maybe it's the saturated sunsets. Or maybe the long white beaches. Maybe the fact that you will hardly ever encounter crowds. Or maybe just something about the soulfulness of the place.

Whatever it is, we've decided to make it our destination for the most romantic month of the year - February.

Check out our destination of the month: West Coast video feature

Tracy Bartlett from West Coast Way joined us for a studio interview to discuss the sexiest places to visit in the region.

Here are her top 6:

1. Yzerfontein

Home to the famous 16-mile beach, the longest beach in South Africa, it's perfect for long, lovely strolls. Also, crowds are never an issue

2. Paternoster

The quintessential, picturesque fishing village - think colourful boats, white sand and plenty of sea food. Spend the night cozying up to the one you love in one of the quaint little white-washed houses.

3. Darling

Located inland, Darling is a beautiful historical little town with tree-lined streets, stunning old buildings, wine farms and all sorts of great eateries to try out.

4. Thali Thali Game Lodge, close to Langebaan

The luxury tented accommodation is perfect for couples who love the outdoors, but feel the need to spoil themselves a bit. Each tent comes standard with an en suite bathrooms (toilet, shower, basin), stoep and outdoor braai and basin, double bed, sleeping couch, wardrobe, fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle, hair dryer, linen, crockery and cutlery.

5. Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve

Another great option for lovers of nature, this reserve is also home to Big Cats, which adds an extra drawcard.

6. Blue Bay Lodge, Saldanha

Arrived at #bluebaylodge in #saldanha and scouting spots for tomorrow's wedding!

Often overlooked by travellers for being slightly on the ugly side, due to the steelworks factory, Saldanha actually has a whole lot to offer. Among other things, the super romantic Blue Bay Lodge. The lodge is located right on the beach and offers a choice between chalets and en suite accommodation.
