You probably know the land-based Big 5 all too well - but meet the watery critters that you should definitely tick off your animal-watching bucket list.
Some may be more obvious than others - but South Africa is blessed with such a rich marine ecosystem that every coastline offers something spectacular to discover.

And one of them is slowly starting to return after a little hiatus from the Cape - the first great white shark was spotted on Tuesday in False Bay in the last 20 months after the species mysteriously semi-disappeared from the area. But while the sightings was welcome, the official who spotted it did caution that more sightings would need to be recorded to herald a proper return of the species.
