South Africa is buzzing with great entertainment in and around you city, as the Easter weekend is upon us. Phumlani S Langa finds yoga meditations, chocolate egg hunts and picnics that will keep you entertained.


Monday Night Meditation

Appropriate for novice through to advanced meditators. If you’re a complete beginner, this is an ideal place to start. If you’re experienced, you’re more than welcome to join giving the gift of your practised meditative energy. The silent meditation will focus on practising sitting in a meditation position for 30 minutes. There will also be focus on cultivating complete stillness of the body as well as one-pointed concentration.

Easter Sunday Festivities

The Gruffalo

Bring your kids to the South African version of this musical adaptation of the award-winning picture book The Gruffalo. The show, with an all-Grahamstown cast, premiered in Cape Town last year and played to packed houses, selling out six of its 11 performances. Directed by Tara Notcutt, it features all the characters, songs and storyline from the smash hit West End production, with a uniquely local feel

Pinotage and Biltong Festival

Indulge in two of South Africa’s favourite delicacies.
