Cape Town - Music festivals, wine festivals, flower festivals, you name it and there will be a festival for it. SA is ready to showcase the best of its local talent and flair this season.

Here are 50 festivals to catch in SA! Where will you find your escape?


1. Fantasy Skate

Want to experience 'ice' skating for the first time? Make your way to Fantasy Skate, an outdoor synthetic ice rink now located on the Pierhead Wharf at the V&A Waterfront.

Developed by skate professionals in Canada and operated by Cape Town locals, this rink is the real deal. A fun, whole family, outdoors skating experience using real ice skates. Not suitable for kids under 4 years. Proceeds go to the Rotary Charity.

2.  Apple Blossom Festival

Just over an hour away from Cape Town, the apple farming district of Elgin is laying on an exciting month of spring celebrations with their first Apple Blossom Festival.

3. Future Park

6. 23rd Cape Town International Kite Festival

7. Benguela Cove Private Vineyard Tour

10. A4 Arts Foundation art exhibition

Join the A4 Arts Foundation to celebrate its new space with a group exhibition 'You & I' curated by Ziphozenkosi Dayile and Kemang wa Lehulere.

11. Perceptive Resonance

Hinting at Rodin's carved works, the show explores themes of identity, masculinity and the ideal form through an experimental and instinctive methodology which combines classical forms with abstractions. Jutting sharp edges are contrasted with smooth surfaces of the human form.

17. Season of Sauvignon

One of the Durbanville Wine Valley calendar highlights is definitely Season of Sauvignon. The Valley is especially well known for their Sauvignon Blanc - in my opinion, the country's best Sauvignon Blancs hail from Durbanville. Come and decide for yourself at the Valley's 12 wine farms.

18. High Tea by the Sea

51. Stilbaai Touch Rugby

Stilbaai Touchies is South Africa's largest and most prestigious Touch Rugby event. The tournament dates back to 1978 when a group of holidaymakers in the small coastal town got together to formalise all the social games that used to take place in a once-off tournament.
