Cape Town - Embraer's most popular private jet in the world, Phenom 300E private just got a high-tech makeover.
The new and improved Phenom 300E was unveiled at the 2017 National Business Aviation Association conference and exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada and now spots a designated “E” for “Enhanced” in reference to its entirely redesigned cabin.
Originally launched in 2005 and introduced to public in 2009, according to Embraer, the Phenom 300 has become one of the hottest selling jets in the world.
Since 2013, Embraer says the Phenom has been the most delivered business jets in the world with more than 400 aircrafts going to customers in roughly 40 countries.

Deliveries of the Phenom 300E will commence in the first quarter of 2018.
“We are very excited to introduce the Phenom 300E which sets a new standard in value and customer experience. The Phenom 300E reflects our commitment to fascinate our customers,” says Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO, Embraer Executive Jets.
“With a passion for excellence, our team has been working closely with customers to bring to market yet another beautifully designed and brilliantly engineered marvel of aviation.”
Jay Beever, Embraer's Vice President and Interior Designer says the Embraer DNA Design prioritises ergonomics, values craftsmanship and has a keen appreciation for design.
“The Phenom 300E not only elevates the passenger experience with an intelligent design, it also improves our customer’s ownership experience by driving aircraft value through simple cabin maintenance and redesign capabilities,” he says.
High-tech and new seats
The new Embraer Phenom 300E business jet costs $9.45 million, but with custom features and optional extras, most customers pay closer to $10 million (about R136 m).
The new interior design and avionics represent a significant upgrade over the current Phenom 300.
The Phenom is powered by a pair of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW535E turbofan engines, each producing 3 200 pounds of thrust.
With six occupants on board, the Phenom 300E has a range of more than 2 200 miles, can cruise at 521 mph and fly as high as 45 000 feet, above almost all commercial airline traffic.
Designed by Beever, it is completely revamped to give passengers more room, greater luxury, utility, and technology.
As for technology, Phenom 300E's new tech panel and folding entertainment screens are integrated into the center roofline and hidden behind dark glass.
One of 300E's big upgrades is a new cabin management/in-flight entertainment system by Lufthansa Technik. In addition, the plane features high-speed wifi connectivity.
The Phenom 300E is equipped with a Prodigy Touch Flight Deck running Garmin 3000 avionics.
The cabin is also pressurised to mimic conditions at 6 600 feet of altitude, which results in a more comfortable environment.
