Cape Town - With air travel, it's the small things that can make or break a good experience. 

Being served a hot towel, getting a refreshing beverage (for free), and securing yourself a window seat all contribute to having a pleasant flight.

These days, securing a window seat is an almost impossible task. If you're not online, picking your seat the exact moment your flight's online check in opens, you're doomed. Forget about that scenic flight you hoped for! 

That's why kulula passenger and avid tweeter @BigJooce felt rather shortchanged when he was placed in a dark little window seat - one without a window - on a flight with the airline on Wednesday, 6 January. 

The distraught passenger took to Twitter to air his frustration, and we couldn't help but chuckle at the poor man's misfortune.

More passengers on domestic flights this holiday season were left disgruntled after most of SA's airlines have banned hoverboards on planes.

The boards, which resemble a rotating, two-wheeled skateboards, are fitted with batteries that breach safety regulations on flights. Therefore, many South African domestic airlines have banned the transportation of the boards in both on-board carry on luggage, and cargo holds. 

Many kids got the boards as Christmas gifts, but had to make alternative plans to get them home as they weren't allowed on aircraft.
