Emirates have released an announcement that it will expand its network to 29 flydubai destinations across three continents. Dubai is home to the biggest aviation hub in the world as hundreds of flights connect through their airport – making Emirates a key role player in international travel.
flydubai launched in 2009 and is an airline service that is focused on increasing and enhancing the connectivity between different cultures across its growing network. Since its inception, flydubai has created a network of more than 95 destinations in 44 countries and established 67 new routes that have direct air links to Dubai. In addition, it has aided in the economic growth of Dubai as it has increased trade and tourism in previously underserved markets.
The new partnered network via the codeshare will allow easier access to more international destinations with the advantage of claiming connecting baggage at the final destination. The codeshare serves to enhance the experience for travellers. Travellers will be able to make use of the service via booking from 3 October with Emirates or a travel agent. It is confirmed that travel will commence from 29 October 2017.
The partnership is centered around increasing ease of access and flexibility as HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai, states that “this is an exciting first step in unlocking the benefits of the partnership for passengers who will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique advantages each airline offers as well as greater choice and flexibility when connecting via Dubai."
Al Maktoum went on further, “This is just the start and as we expand the partner network in the coming months we will open up more opportunities for our passengers to explore the world”, indicating that the partnership has future plans.
