Cape Town - The spotlight is on Africa which will host the World Travel Awards in Rwanda for the first time, with the Africa Gala Ceremony 2017 set to take place in the country's capital, Kigali, on 10 October.

Each year, World Travel Awards covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies to recognise and celebrate success within a key geographical region.

World Travel Awards President and Founder, Graham Cooke, says “It will be an honour for World Travel Awards to visit Rwanda for the first time, later this year.

“The heart of Africa, Rwanda is rightfully known for being the home of mountain gorillas, its spectacular scenery – think thundering waterfalls, towering mountains and virgin rainforests – and other rare wildlife. This is a fantastic opportunity for Rwanda to claim its rightful place as Africa's rising star.”
