Shame. It is a necessary although terrible experience we must all endure and experience at some point in our lives so that we know that certain things are not to be repeated. Some people, however, seem immune to the affliction and live a life oblivious to the discomfort their actions cause, vicariously, to the people they share a space with.
Nowhere is shamelessness so shameful and frequent as in the confined spaces of the high-speed tubular vessels in the air we know as aeroplanes.
Since it's inception, the Passenger Shaming Instagram page has been shaming the shameless for their antics and shenanigans at thousands of feet (ahem) in the air. 2018, in more ways than one, has seen an escalation of absurd and outlandish shameless behaviours.
The following is a roundup of some of the worst of 2018. Read on and grimace.

The Naked Man from Alaska
A passenger on an Alaska Airlines flight from Seattle to Anchorage looked up from his audio book to see a naked man yelling and heading toward the cockpit.
According to the AP Kate Danyluk, a passenger on the flight, knew something was wrong because the flight attendants kept going back and forth in the aisles and had put on rubber gloves.
"I thought it was some kind of attack," said Nick Steffl, another passenger. Steffl did not see the man remove his clothes but looked up to see him 15 rows ahead, running forward. "I heard him whooping and hollering like he was having a good time, 'Woo-hoo,'" Steffl said.
The man neared the cockpit, reversed course and ran back. In a profanity-laced question, Steffl asked the man was he was doing. The man replied with a "smartass" response. Steffl slapped him. The young man was never violent.
"I was the one that got violent," Steffl said. "I slapped him across the face and he was like, 'Oh, I like it.'

Violent and naked
Shortly after a Malindo Air flight departed from Kuala Lumpur, a 20-year-old student took his clothes off and started watching pornography on his laptop. At the request of airline staff he initially put his clothing back on but things escalated after his attempts to hug a stewardess were rejected.
He became aggressive and attacked a stewardess before cabin crew and passengers reportedly managed to subdue him and his hands were tied up with a piece of cloth for the rest of the flight.

The lord travels economy
I'm not too sure if this is shameful to be quite honest due to the passenger's questionable mental health but it is worth an inclusion for it's sheer absurdity.
SkyWest Flight 5449 should have been just another routine flight from San Francisco to to Boise, Idaho. It ended up being a flight that the passengers will likely never forget.
Midway through the flight a woman got up from her first-class seat and made a frantic dash for the door at the front of the plane.
Unsuspecting passengers, momentarily frozen with bewilderment, looked on as the woman then proceeded to try to open the cabin door.
The bizarre spectacle continued as footage shows that the woman, now being held down, goes on to proclaim her hallowed status to her fellow passengers as she repeatedly shouts “I am God. I am God. I am God.”

The Great 'Food-Tray Foot War' twitter thread of 2018 #NeverForget
A passenger had stretched out her feet onto the food tray on the seat-back in front of her on a United Airlines flight and this twitter user and fellow passenger wasn't having it. Check out the thread below by clicking on the Tweet.

The pooper that turned the plane around
According to AP a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Hong Kong was diverted to Alaska after a passenger was accused of soiling two lavatories and trying to flush his shirt down a toilet.
Authorities needed an interpreter to interview the man, who was carrying a Vietnamese passport and had a US permanent resident card. We hope that they also made use of gloves because that's just nasty.

Racism in the air
You never know what to expect when you're travelling solo but it is completely reasonable to expect to not be the victim of a racist tirade. However, one shameless racist passenger took to a racial slurs aboard a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to London earlier this year.
The racist can be seen below. Be warned - profanity ahead.
