Cape Town - If Samuel L Jackson is any upright man of his word, he'll be travelling to South Africa soon...
This is the sentiment of the South African Twitter-sphere at the moment, following the results of the US election which saw Donald Trump elected as the new American president.
In 2015, during a skit on the American Jimmy Kimmel show, Samuel L Jackson said he'd move to South Africa if Trump ever became president. Now, South Africans are tongue-in-cheekily requesting from Mr Jackson when they can expect him at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Some are even offering Jackson a spare couch to crash on.
Following the US elections, Samuel L Jackson was trending on SA Twitter.
Some tweeters are expecting what they call a 'Homecoming' to SA and the African motherland, possibly referring to the various threats Trump made to deport and expel marginalised groups from America.
South African Trevor Noah is also included in the Twitter 'homecoming' call, with some friendly Saffas saying they'll send an Uber to OR Tambo to collect him.
