Cape Town – On 17 September 2017, Emirates airline
celebrated 15 years of flying to the magical island of Mauritius.
Mauritius is heralded as a popular destination for South Africans
and as being an island paradise. It is home to pristine beaches and crystal
blue waters – making it the ideal tropical destination. With Emirates
celebrating this milestone, a local artist took to the sand to demonstrate his
thanks with an astonishing sculpture of an Airbus A380 on Flic en Flac beach. The sand sculptor took 48 hours to complete by
Jhowry and his assistant and is a total of 7 meters long. The detailing of the
Airbus is impeccable and is a memorable piece of artwork for the occasion. Sanjay
Jhowry is a Mauritian born sculptor and musician. Jhowry creates detailed artwork with sand as
a medium, for visitors to awe upon.
