Sterkfontein Caves

The Sterkfontein caves are considered a Wold Heritage Site and are home to fossils that are over four million years old - go underground and discover the roots of the earth's ancestors. There is a tour guide that will take you around as you explore the caves to understand the deeper history. Exploring the caves requires a lot of bending and crawling - be sure to wear comfy shoes and clothes.

Magaliesberg Canopy Tour 

Try a canopy tour of Magaliesberg if you dare to test swinging to new heights through the trees. Located in the heart of Magalies, the canopy tour allows you to glide through one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. The view is breathtaking and will get your adrenaline pumping as you learn about this rocky ecosystem's history. 

Venue:  Sparkling Waters Hotel and Spa

Date: TBC - available when booking. 

Time: 10:30 - 13:00

Cost: R 595 per person, booking is essential.

Gold Reef City 

The City of Gold - is home to a themepark and casino that is built over a mine. There is a museum dedicated to the mining industry that one can tour after a long and exciting day of rollercoasters and thrill rides. The casino grounds are home to various facilities such as the Farmyard, heritage houses and the fun train. There is no other theme park like it in South Africa - be sure to tick this off your festive season list in Jozi.
