Voodoo Womxn

A Tribute to Mama Africa – Miriam Makeba

One well-loved African vocalist honouring another. Miriam Makeba’s career influenced Thulile Zama to such an extent that she found it fitting to do a tribute in honour of Mama Africa. She and her band have chosen songs from different eras of Makeba’s illustrious career, including favourites like Pata Pata as well as the heart-wrenching offerings that she penned when she was in exile.

The show is written and directed by Janice Honeyman, who celebrates her 13th pantomime with Pinocchio. The pantomime features brilliant stars such as Tobie Cronjé and Kanyi Nokwe, alongside Chi Mhende and veteran actress Ilse Klink. It has sold over 30 000 tickets already.
